Wilderness is a powerhouse rock band that bridges generations of sound, delivering both electrifying cover songs and original music that speaks to the heart of rock and roll. With a repertoire spanning Classic Rock, 80’s Metal, Grunge, and Modern Rock, Wilderness brings audiences on a journey through the timeless energy of rock’s greatest eras while carving out their own unique identity.
At the core of Wilderness is a lineup of seasoned musicians whose chemistry fuels the band’s dynamic performances:
Scott Green – Lead & Rhythm Guitar
Robert Runnels – Lead & Rhythm Guitar
Rocky Green – Bass
Ted Dyer – Drums
David Sturgis – Lead Vocals
Together, they create a wall of sound that blends precision, passion, and raw power. From soaring guitar harmonies and thunderous rhythms to gritty bass lines and commanding vocals, Wilderness captures the essence of rock in all its forms.
Wilderness takes inspiration from the giants of rock across multiple eras, weaving their influence into both covers and original songs. Their journey begins with the foundations of Classic Rock, channeling the raw power and timeless riffs of bands like Led Zeppelin, AC/DC, and Judas Priest. From there, they embrace the high-octane energy of 80’s metal, drawing on the blazing guitar work and anthemic sound of groups such as Guns'n Roses, Cinderella, Poison, and Def Leppard. As rock evolved, Wilderness taps into the darker tones and emotional grit of the 90’s grunge and alternative movement, echoing the spirit of bands like Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, and Alice in Chains.
This progression through genres gives Wilderness a unique versatility: they can ignite nostalgia with classics, deliver the punch of metal, capture the moodiness of grunge, and still sound fresh with contemporary rock.
Whether reimagining classics or showcasing their own original tracks, Wilderness delivers performances that are both nostalgic and fresh. Their music resonates with fans young and old, proving that rock is alive, evolving, and louder than ever.

With over four decades fronting rock bands, David Sturgis is a seasoned lead vocalist whose voice is forged in the tradition of hard-driving, no-nonsense rock. Drawing influence from legendary acts like Led Zeppelin, AC/DC, and Guns N’ Roses, his sound blends raw power, grit, and melodic control with the swagger of classic arena rock.
From smoky clubs to packed arena stages, David’s performances are defined by commanding stage presence, authentic delivery, and a deep respect for the genre’s roots. His vocals channel the blues-soaked intensity of the ’70s and the unapologetic edge of ’80s hard rock, creating a sound that’s timeless yet fiercely alive. After 40+ years behind the mic, he continues to deliver rock the way it was meant to be heard—solid, honest, and unforgettable.

Scott brings over four decades of raw rock energy and seasoned musicianship to the stage. Picking up the guitar in high school, Scott has spent the last 45 years honing his craft in countless rock bands, earning a reputation for his fiery riffs, soulful solos, and commanding stage presence.
Deeply influenced by legends like Led Zeppelin, AC/DC, Van Halen, Stevie Ray Vaughan, and Pink Floyd, Scott’s playing blends classic rock power with blues-driven emotion and psychedelic textures. His sound is equal parts grit and finesse—whether he’s tearing through high-voltage rhythms or weaving atmospheric leads.
Known to fans and fellow musicians as “Rudedog,” Scott embodies the spirit of rock and roll: relentless passion, technical mastery, and a love for the music that never fades. With his guitar slung low and his tone dialed in, he continues to channel the timeless energy of the greats while carving out his own unmistakable voice in the world of rock.

Robert began playing guitar in the early ’80s and credits his grandmother for buying his first guitar and amp—an act that set him on a lifelong musical path. His earliest influences included The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, and Rush, but it was the harder melodic rock and metal of Rainbow, Deep Purple, UFO, Judas Priest, Ozzy Osbourne, Dokken, and others that pushed him toward lead guitar. After years where life took priority over music, Robert has returned to his passion with renewed purpose. Today, he’s grateful to strap on the Flying V once again and bring his melodic solos and driving rhythm work to Wilderness’ powerful two‑guitar attack.

Rocky is the newest musician of the band. He discovered his passion for the low end during the quiet of COVID and has been making noise ever since. He brings a fresh energy to the stage, playing with the hunger of a musician making up for lost time.
His influences are widespread: from the arena-rock grit of AC/DC to the heavy, aggressive bounce of Disturbed, and from the honky-tonk swing of George Strait to the intricate, rootsy folk complexity of Crooked Still. Layer on top of that the electronic funk of Daft Punk, and you have a bassist inspired by a little bit of everything. Rocky locks it down and keeps the groove heavy.

Ted’s musical journey began at age ten with the saxophone, quickly expanding to trumpet and nearly every instrument in his high school band. But once he discovered the drums, the rhythm became his true passion. Even while pursuing a career in software engineering, Ted never let go of music—exploring guitar, bass, and ultimately returning to the drums, which he has played consistently for more than 15 years.
Shaped by the driving pop‑rock sounds of the ’80s—The Police, The Cars, Huey Lewis and the News, Journey, and Van Halen—Ted’s drumming delivers powerful, straightforward grooves that fuel the band’s energy. He thrives on improvisation, feeding off the crowd and adding dynamic fills that elevate each performance, keeping audiences locked in and moving to the beat.
